Dough as a living being: beyond a mathematical formula.

It all begins early in the morning with the sound of a mantra in the background and few simple ingredients following a tradition passed down from master to disciple. At this stage is the time which plays a crucial role. It’s only after 36 hours of fermentation that our souldough is ready to be baked in a handmade golden oven. Pizza is cooked at 450°C for about 90 seconds…I know, that’s fast!!!

Here comes one of the most difficult task, as we Italian don’t come to any compromise in choosing the product for our pizza.

A combination of traditional Italian goods (to achieve this task we often import from Italy exclusively for Souldough), and Portuguese fresh products.

Aligned to our ethic which support family business, local producer and genuine organic food.

… All the ingredient that we use at Souldough are prepared from scratch in our kitchen.

Our Story

ONCE UPON A TIME THREE FRIENDS AND A COMMON GROUND…

Our story begins here in Portugal where after many years of travelling, we finally felt home.
Brought together by the teachings of Kundalini Yoga in the Guru Ram Dass Ashram close to near Ericeira.

After years of service in the ashram, it was time to reach out to people, starting from what we love the most: teaching yoga, creating healing space in festivals and of course making Pizza.

Souldough was born in the garage backing pizza (in an old wooden oven) to gather friends and community and to satisfy the (demanding) Italian palate.

After converting the neighbourhood into real pizza lovers, we decided to build a pizza truck and spread the message.
